Crowdfunding for Lusio

Lusio is not a quick pop up exhibit. Lusio takes almost the full year to plan and execute properly.

Lusio is funded with a partial Tech Specific Grant from 4Culture (Thank you 4Culture!) and the rest of the funding comes from the pockets of the artists and Lusio curator. Last year it costed approximately $11,000 to produce this event, and we did it with less than $3,000 in community donations. The artists and curator spend quite a lot of their own money funding these installations, many of which are created just for Lusio.

Paying the artists

Lusio has been lucky enough to have artists willing to donate their time and art to the greater good of the event, but these artists deserve to be paid for all their hard work making people happy.

The majority of the donations will be going directly into a fund to pay the artists a stipend for their time!

Our goal is to raise at least $5000 to give stipends of $100-$300 per artist.

This is not much of a stipend but with 30 installations we need a minimum of $3,000 to pay the artists a minimum $100 stipend. And since a guy raised $55,000 for potato salad, surely we can raise $5000 to help pay the artists ;)
