About
Mokedo is hosting an open call for Light Art for some upcoming winter events held at Mokedo gallery in SODO, at the Volunteer Park Conservatory, and more!
Mokedo is a art studio and creative events gallery located in the SODO area of Seattle. Mokedo focuses primarily on light art, electronic music, some 2D art, and providing education about these formats. "Lusio" is a series of events Mokedo curates outside of the gallery which has a specific theme and feel (explore, play, wonder, wander) and are almost always set into a natural environment like Volunteer Park or the Conservatory.
****The official call for the big annual event, "Lusio. A Night to Awaken" is still forthcoming. Applying here will get your art seen by the curator and possibly invited to apply for the big annual event, but there will be a separate call for light art for "Lusio. A Night to Awaken" ***
Mokedo has more than a few opportunities for light artists to share their work and knowledge in 2018 some of which are outlined below but there are more possibilities depending on the art.
If you're a light artist, an artist group, or a artist that works with light in some format, then we would love to hear about your work.
Opportunities include events like..
Sight Unseen with the Liquid Light Wizard
Light Work
Lusio Lights
The Conclave Sessions
Choose Your Own Adventure

Don't worry, we kept it pretty simple ;)

*Payment for artwork is dependent on each event but please understand that Mokedo is a gallery run by a struggling artist like yourself. Mokedo promotes these events and light art as a way to provide experiences and opportunities for artists to showcase these art formats. In short, Mokedo tries to "spread happiness in bulk" through art. We are currently looking for avenues to provide more payments for the artists because YOU ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY! Please let us know if payment is an issue or if you need large funding and in certain instances we can apply for or recommend grants to help showcase your work in 2018.
